Godsnaam
In de oudste Hebreeuwse teksten staat de Godsnaam dan ook in de vorm van vier medeklinkers weergegeven, het Tetragrammaton of Tetragram genoemd (van het Griekse -, “vier”, en gram’ma, “letter”). De Naam wordt in het Nederlands getranscribeerd als JHWH (of JHVH). Erasmus gaf de Godsnaam als "Jehova" weer en nam aan dat dit de oorspronkelijke uitspraak was. Deze vorm werd ook gebruikt in de inleiding van de eerste uitgave van de Statenvertaling van [25].
Godsnaam Deze naam komt ongeveer keer voor in het Oude Testament en is daarmee de meest gebruikte naam van God. Het wordt vertaald met Heere. Het is ook de naam waarmee God Zich aan Zijn volk Israël verbindt als Hij tegen Mozes zegt dat hij Hem met JHWH bekend moet maken aan de Israëlieten.
